Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has secured their place at the top of Group H after defeating Rennes 2-1 in Ligue 1 round 16.
The match saw PSG dominate possession and create numerous chances, but it was the home side who were able to take the lead through Maxence Domoguillaume in the 48th minute. However, PSG refused to be denied and responded with a clinical finish from Neymar Jr. just before half-time to level the scoreline.
The second-half saw PSG continue to dominate and they were rewarded for their efforts when Angel Di Maria scored his first goal for the club in the 59th minute. The Brazilian midfielder made no mistake with his finish, putting PSG ahead once again.
Rennes fought back bravely in the final minutes, but it was too little too late as PSG held on to secure all three points and maintain their position at the summit of Group H. Neymar Jr.'s key goal will undoubtedly be a big boost for PSG's title hopes, while the victory also marks a strong start to the season for the team.
